Specific Countries and Regions
There are many variations and exceptions in patentability of specific subject matters from country to country. The best strategy is to draft U.S. claims, and then send a copy of the claims by email to a foreign associate in a country of interest, inquiring whether that claimed subject matter would be patentable in that particular country. Nevertheless, the following general guidelines apply as of January 2006.
